As we get back on the ice this week, most of our ice times are in Lakefield. Please read the following message from the Lakefield arena staff...
Good Afternoon Everyone
It seems odd to be starting the hockey season when the temperatures have been so high this week, but … here we go!
Mother Nature has certainly put ice making to the test, but the arena staff have worked hard and done an amazing job building the ice in order to start the season tomorrow. They have had to contend with extreme humidity in the building and significant moisture dripping from the roof. They have the ice surface looking great. The stands / spectator area in the “cold part” continues to be covered in significant moisture. As soon as it is removed, it appears again. As a result, signs have been posted to restrict access to the stands. Please communicate to your membership to stay in the warm part until the signs have been removed. This could be for the duration of the weekend.
We thank you kindly for your cooperation.
Good luck to all as the season begins
