On Dec 14 the Atom LEO Green team traveled to Parry Sound for the weekend to compete in the Bob Beaumont Atom/Peewee Tournament.
They worked extremely hard through 5 games winning their SECOND tournament of the season!! In the round robin on Friday night, they defeated South Muskoka strongly with a 10-1 victory. On Saturday morning the boys had a good game, but came up short losing a close battle 1-0 to the Huntsville Otters. Saturday afternoon they came out strong defeating a second team from Huntsville 4-0 and earning a spot in the semi-finals. Sunday morning the boys came out to win defeating the undefeated Penetang Flames 2-0, earning a spot in the Championship game Sunday afternoon and a chance at revenge against the Huntsville Otters. These boys stepped on the ice for the Championship game on a mission to win and they did NOT disappoint!! They defeated Huntsville 6-0 to win the tournament!!! The boys showed teamwork, determination and unwavering sportsmanship throughout the weekend. They all work hard and all share an obvious passion for the game. Our goalie, Charlie Antonopulos, was nearly flawless allowing only 2 goals through 5 games in the tournament!! This talented group of boys have played a total of 23 games this season, including 2 tournaments, posting only a single loss!! They wear green and white proudly proving that Ennismore is a force to be reckoned with. Big congrats to the entire team as well as the coaching staff led by head coach Rob Damario.
