Introducing our U13 2nd Entry Head Coach!
Hello Ennismore Hockey Community,

My name is Chris Whelan, and I’m excited and proud to be stepping in as the Head Coach of the U13 Second Entry team for the upcoming season.
As someone who played AAA hockey and later coached within the Peterborough AAA system, I understand the value of balancing high-level skill development with a fun, supportive team atmosphere. My approach to coaching is rooted in helping players grow both as athletes and as people, and I’m looking forward to bringing that mindset to Ennismore.
As we look ahead to tryouts in September, I want to encourage all players to stay active and continue working hard throughout the summer. This is a great time to build your strength, improve your skating, and sharpen your skills—so you can come into tryouts prepared and confident.
This season, we’ll be focusing on development first, with a strong emphasis on:
  • On-ice skills
  • Off-ice conditioning
  • Cognitive training to support hockey IQ, decision-making, and mental resilience
My goal is to help each player become a smarter, faster, and more well-rounded player. Off-ice sessions throughout the year will include fitness, agility, and cognitive challenges designed to push players both physically and mentally, helping prepare them for long-term success in the game.
I’m truly looking forward to working with this group and building a culture that values effort, growth, and respect. Let’s make it a great season together.
See you at the rink!
