You may notice a new name: the club is now known as the Chemung Lake, Bridgenorth, Ennismore District Lions. Chartered on May 29, 1974, they are still the same dedicated Lions Club, now serving their communities under a refreshed name.
On May 25th, 2024, the club marked an incredible milestone: 50 years of service to the communities of Bridgenorth, Ennismore, and Curve Lake.
Fifty years is no small feat. Here is just a glimpse of what that dedication has looked like over the decades:
A new sports park, upgrades to the local hockey arena, and a new library in Bridgenorth. Ongoing support for youth sports programs and local school meal programs at Chemong Public School and St. Martin's Catholic Elementary School. Forty-nine years of Red Cross swimming programs for children at Jones Beach. Seniors' meal programs and financial assistance for families facing emergencies. Continued support for Community Care Ennismore, Boy Scouts, Girl Guides, and the Childhood Cancer program at PRHC.
Their generosity toward Peterborough Regional Health Centre has been especially remarkable, including donations for new equipment and contributions to the pre-natal birthing rooms, with total donations to PRHC surpassing $300,000.
We are proud to have the Chemung Lake, Bridgenorth, Ennismore District Lions in our corner. To learn more about all they do, visit their website:
