On May 25th, 2024, the Chemung Lake District Lions Club will be celebrating their 50th Anniversary of Service for the communities of Bridgenorth, Ennismore, and Curve Lake.
What does 50 years of service mean to our communities?
Here are a few examples...new sports parks; upgrades to the hockey arena; a new library in Bridgenorth; support for many Youth sports programs; 39 years of providing Red Cross swimming programs for children at Jones Beach; support for local schools (Chemong Public School & St Martin's Catholic Elementary School) meal programs for children; Seniors' meals programs; financial help for families in need during emergenices; ongoing support for Community Care, Ennismore.
During the 50 years, we have provided support for Boy Scouts, Girl Guides, the Childhood Cancer program at PRHC, donations for new equipment and equipment for pre-natal birthing rooms at PRHC; in all, donations to PRHC exceeded $300K.
Along with these donations and requests that our Club has supported over the 50 years, our Club has raised and donated just over $2 million dollars in support for disaster relief, individual needs, and health and wellness programs.
