The CoverIT U13B Ennismore Eagles Strike Gold! The CoverIT U13B Ennismore Eagles competed in the Battle for the Puck tournament this weekend in Lindsay going undefeated for 6 games, bringing home tournament championship trophies for their shelves, and a Championship banner to hang high in the Ennismore Arena.

The U13s were full steam ahead during the round robin with final scores of 8-1 against Peterborough BB, 9-4 vs Fort Erie B, and a 5-0 win over South Dundas B. The Eagles then took on Erin Hillsburgh BB in the quarter final game, again winning 5-0. South Dundas gave the team a battle in the semi final game, but  the CoverIT team came out on top winning 4-2.

The gold medal game was nothing short of exciting as Fort Erie wanted redemption after their round robin loss and came out banging getting up on the Eagles 1-0 near the end of the first period.  Your Eagles weren't going down without a fight and quickly answered back with a shorthanded goal.  The game was back and forth with both goalies making some incredible saves, but one more goal for each team ended the third period in a 2-2 tie.  The Eagles went into OT short handed playing 4 on 3 but were relentless killing off the penalty and then scoring a breakaway goal shortly after to win the tournament!!

Congratulations to all of the players and coaches, you put your hearts and souls on the ice this weekend!
And many thanks to the parents for braving the freezing cold arena for 6 games!!
The U13B team is now on the hunt for their spot in the OMHA's!
