U11 Rep are Silver Stick Champs!!
Congratulations to our U11
Monsen’s Sporting Goods Rep Team who brought home the International Silver Stick Championship this past weekend in Wasaga Beach.
Our players embarked on their first full ice tournament of their minor hockey careers this past weekend. With butterflies in their bellies and adrenaline rushing through their veins they faced the Elmvale Coyotes who handed the team their first loss (5-4) of the season. While they headed off the ice quiet and somber, our boys shook off the loss and readied themselves for their next game. The second game of the day saw our team face the home town Wasaga Beach Stars. With both teams coming off a loss each that morning, each were hungry for the win. Ennismore played hard and came out with a 2-0 win.
In the semi-final game the team faced the Ingersoll Express. Knowing this was a must win game our boys dug deep and came out with a 5-3 win to send them to the finals.
The final game they again met the Elmvale Coyotes. Elmvale, like our team, had come into the tournament being undefeated. With a back and forth game that kept the players, coaches and family supporters in the audience on their toes our Ennismore team came out on top with a 4-3 win.
We are incredibly proud of our team and coaches for the huge effort and team work they showed this weekend. Each player and coach played a key role in making the weekend the success it was. This is truly a hockey memory that will stay with these players for years to come.
Thank you to the families that were in the stands to support our team, you were loud and proud!
