Submitted By Tanya Tucker on Tuesday, January 14, 2020
After an exciting 48 hours of hockey, a crazy ice storm and two
7 am games, the Ennismore Atom AE Team are Gold Medal Champions in the
Peterborough Liftlock Atom Hockey Tournament. The first Ennismore
team to win the championship in this tournament since 1995!
They finished the tournament off undefeated. With 4 wins and 1 tie. The team battled through two sudden death overtime periods in their semi-final and final games. Then powered through two intense and exciting shoot outs which earned them their Gold medal. Defeating St. Thomas in the semi-finals and Center Wellington in the finals. All players worked to their full potential giving 100% every game of the tournament. This was definitely a team effort and a well deserved win. It also gave their parents and many fans some extra grey hairs. Congratulations to all players and coaches. A great way to head into the playoffs!
